Petpep is a pet education service available through our clinic. The clinic can arrange for a vet and nurse to visit your kindergarten, school or club to talk about pet ownership. The presentation and activities are targeted to the appropriate age group and is a valuable exercise in educating children about caring for pets. We also offer clinic tours where the children can see what happens in a veterinary hospital. The children learn about the clinic facilities and same of the preparation the vets need to do before going into surgery.

Our hospital is on tour visiting local schools and kindergartens throughout the community, conducting educational programs with children about responsible pet ownership and learning how to look after their pets.

The program is conducted by a Vet and Veterinary Nurse, where they visit local kindergartens and schools dressed in full uniform and bring animals to practically educate children how to interact and approach animals. The class is shown what a Vet wears to perform surgery and why. They receive showbags with informational brochures and a colouring competition.

At the conclusion of PetPEP class, a certificate is awarded to each child that pledges responsible pet ownership such as;

• choosing a pet that suits the family
• caring for their pet and keeping them happy and healthy
• helping their family in raising and training their pet to be a good citizen and ensuring they respect the laws in the community in relation to owning a pet.
