Dr Andrew Sellars-Jones BVSc (Hons) BSc - Senior Veterinarian

Having completed a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Melbourne, Andrew moved to Brisbane where he graduated with first class honours from the University of Queensland Veterinary School in 1989. He then returned home and began practising in Central Victoria. In 1997 he became one of the founding members of Blackburn Veterinary Centre where he is now able to concentrate on his love of dog and cat medicine. Away from work Andrew’s time is kept very busy looking aft the four women in his life, and their dog Crumpet. Any rare spare moments are spent sailing his dinghy on the bay or breeding and showing his Southdown Sheep.


Dr Belinda Willis - Veterinarian

Belinda graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1999 with a Degree in Veterinary Science. She has worked for four years in mixed animal practices, both within rural and semi-rural Victoria. She has a keen interest in small animal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dermatology and behaviour. She is currently undertaking post graduate study through the University of Sydney in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Her interests outside work include, netball, gym, water skiing and running. She is also involved in a dog obedience club. Belinda is currently on maternity leave!


Dr Fiona Turner - Veterinarian

Fiona graduated in 2006 from the University of Melbourne. She has recently joined the team at Blackburn Vet Centre and has a special interest in preventative health care as well as dog and cat medicine.

Outside of the clinic Fiona enjoys spending time up at her family's farm with her big grey horse "Podgy", her little dog "Zoe" and a naughty tortie "Pickles". She looks forward to meeting you and your adorable pets soon.


Dr Matthew Jones - Veterinarian

Matthew graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and started working in Victoria's south-west shortly after completing his studies. While working in this mixed practice setting, his love of small animal medicine and surgery grew; as a result, he returned to Melbourne in late 2007 and commenced working at the Blackburn Vet Centre to focus purely on small animal health.

When not at work, Matthew enjoys playing drums, cycling and four-wheel driving. He looks forward
to getting to know you and your treasured companion!


Claire - Veterinary Nurse

Claire recently completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, and is now a qualified nurse. Her love for animals extends outside of work, as she has a beautiful three year old Jack Russell X, 'Bailey', who greets her excitedly each day after work eager to go for our daily walk. Claire looks forward to meeting you all and your beloved pets.


Michelle Davies - Veterinary Nurse

Michelle Davies has been working at Blackburn Veterinary Centre since September 2004 and this year she has chosen to begin her studies to become a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse. Michelle is currently doing her Certificate Two in Animal Studies through the Animal Industries Resource Centre based in Queensland.

She has always loved animals and believes it is a logical step for her to begin studies in the area. At home, Michelle has two very spoilt dogs who love their walks and trips to the beach in summer. Brandy is a two year old Beagle and Archie is a two and a half year old Maltese x Shih Tzu.

Michelle is enjoying her time at Blackburn Veterinary Centre assisting the Veterinarians in their day to day tasks in providing care for your beloved pets. She also looks forward to furthering her knowledge in animal care and meeting you and your pets.


Simone Marks - Veterinary Nurse

Simone completed Certificate II in Veterinary Nursing in 2008. She has always shown an interest in animals and really celebrates today's "Human-Animal" bond.

At home she enjoys the company of Emma, her 19 year old Jack Russell, Mitch and Spike, her two naughty ferrets and her latest addition, Stanley her Childrens Python. Simone has always been animal orientated and always has their best interests at heart. She looks forward to meeting your special family member.


Jodi Sievwright - Veterinary Nurse

Growing up in the country on a 10 acre hobby farm, hand rearing calves, lambs and caring for various other barn-yard animals, meant that Jodi developed an appreciation and love of animals at a young age. It wasn't until 2000 that she was able to focus on a career in animal welfare. Beginning with voluntary work at the RSPCA she soon obtained work in a veterinary practice and graduated a fully fledged Veterinary Nurse in 2004.


Felicity Burns - Veterinary Nurse

Felicity started Veterinary Nursing in 2002 and cannot imagine doing anything else. She is currently studying to gain her Certificate 2 in Veterinary Nursing. Felicity likes all animals large and small and hopes to one day have her own hobby farm. She also has a very keen interest in animal behaviour hence why she, with the help of Claire, runs Puppy Pre-School. Slowly Felicity is building her collection of an animal family with the recent addition this year being a kitten named "Audree".

Felicity is enjoying her time at Blackburn Vet Centre and the adrenaline of never knowing what emergency is going to walk through the door.


Cheryl - Veterinary nurse

Upon graduating Year 12, Cheryl completed a Bachelor of Biological Science. Majoring in Animal & Plant Biology she decided to fulfil an ambition to work within the animal care industry.

To Gain experience in the field she started as a volunteer in the RSPCA Veterinary Clinic. In 2003 she became a full-time employee at the RSPCA as a Veterinary Nurse and gained full accreditation as a qualified Veterinary Nurse, Certificate IV. Since being promoted to Kitten Kindy coordinator and initiating Cat Behavioural Consultations for owners at the RSPCA, Cheryl developed interests in the field of animal behaviour and community education. It was this passion for her educating the public that inspired her to persue a career in teaching. Cheryl is currently in her third year of a post graduate Bachelor of Teaching (Primary & Secondary).

Cheryl believes that she is destined to become the 'weird old woman with a thousand cats' and has begun her collection with her precious cats Billie, Ginger and Teddy.
