Mice plague problems - Protect your pet!

There has been a number of cases of cats and dogs falling ill and vomiting roundworms. Roundworms look like long white worms and are the most common worms passed on to humans. Pets can become infected by eating soil contaminated with roundworm eggs or eating other hosts such as mice or birds.

To protect your pets and your family, we are informing all pet owners to keep your pets' worm prevention treatment up to date. If your pet is on a tablet or spot-on wormer treatment, you must worm them every 3 months. If on a combined parasite control product such as Advocate, it must be applied monthly to control worms. It is advisable to contact your vet who will recommend you the best worm prevention treatment for your pet.

A reminder also to keep rat baits out of reach from your pets. If you suspect your pet has ingested rat baits, do not delay in seeking veterinary attention. The earlier the signs are detected, the less complicated the treatment of rat poisoning is for your infected pet.
